Australian trainee teachers are given the opportunity to participate in a professional teaching exchange in a rural Indian partner school. This facilitates the sharing of knowledge with Indian teachers, whilst allowing the Australian trainee teachers to benefit from local teaching skills and sharing their own teaching pedagogies. This enables both the Australian and Indian teachers to gain essential skills with which to shape young lives.
As well as a professional skills exchange, the trainee teachers and Indian teachers participate in a cultural exchange. Lasting 3-6 weeks, the tours are tied to an academic program and contribute to the attainment of the trainee’s teaching degree.
